Cool Day in Kindergarten
Cool Kindergarten at PF
Yesterday there were three kids in our Kindergarten that are all turning 6 in the next two weeks. Of course, that’s nothing unusual – all kindergarteners turn 6. But these three have a pretty interesting story that began a long ways away and had interesting paths to that Sunday School class.
Around this time in 2006 a little girl was born in Guatemala City. A week later another little girl was born there and the following week a little boy was born in that same city. All three of those babies were born into very difficult situations and the young birth moms decided to have their children adopted rather than choosing a more drastic approach.
At that time a family from Houston was in the process of adopting a baby from Guatemala. And a family from the southern part of PA was ready to adopt as well as was a family from Russell, PA. Each of these families went through the difficult process and within a year all three of these couples brought home their little gifts from God to join their “forever family”.
The couple from Russell is my wife and I and we pastor Praise Fellowship. About a year ago the family from Houston moved to the Warren area and attends Praise Fellowship. And yesterday the couple from Southern Pennsylvania was guest speakers at the church.
These three precious kids were born 1000’s of miles away from here in a totally foreign country. And yet yesterday they all celebrated their 6th birthdays together in our little church in our little town. Three little kids born the same weeks in Guatemala City – 6 years later sitting together in a Kindergarten Sunday School class learning about the Love of Jesus.
I love the little things that God does. May we be people of faith who trust that the Spirit of God does orchestrate our paths and puts us right where He wants us when He wants us there.
As the scripture says in Acts 17:26, 27, “From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men (and little kids) would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”
